CLASSES 

Novice Solo: A dancer who is competing in a solo category for their first year of competition. They may have danced in a duet/trio or group/line in past seasons.

 

Novice Duet/Trio: This is the first year these dancers are competing in a duet/trio category. They have not competed in a solo, duet/trio in past seasons but may have danced in a group/line

 

Novice Groups/Line: 75% of the competitors in the performance have never danced in a solo, duet/trio or a group/large group/line in past seasons. 

 

Performance: Dancers who train 6 hours or less/week. 

 

Advanced: Dancers who train more than 6 hours/week. 

 

Adult: A dancer over 19 years of age, groups must be 75% adult. This category is not eligible for overall awards.

REGISTRATION  INFORMATION

  • All entries must be entered in DanceBug by January 31st

  • Any Group, Large Group or Line over 4 minutes long must be entered into the extended category.

  • A deposit must be paid to hold your spot, studios are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. All deposits are non-refundable.

  • Music must be uploaded to Dance Bug at least two weeks before the start of the competition.  Please bring a backup of all of your music on a USB. 

  • The list of attending studios will not be disclosed to any studios before the event. 

POLICIES

  • To qualify for our small studio events you must have 100 entries or less (entry to the event will be determined by the Rhythm Revolution team) 

  • To qualify for overall scholarships you must enter a minimum 5 groups 

  • Independent entries are not accepted, all entries must be entered by the studio

  • Any cash scholarship awards must have a studio director or teacher present during the awards ceremony to receive the scholarship

  • Any dance that won a scholarship at Rhythm Dance 2024 is not eligible for a scholarship at Rhythm Revolution 2025

  • Rhythm Revolution reserves the right to determine the amount of all cash awards based on registration, at its discretion

  • General audience members will not be allowed to VIDEOTAPE, PHOTOGRAPH, or ANY KIND OF REPRODUCTION. Rhythm Revolution will have all videos and/or photographs taken by DanceBug

  • Competitors may not compete against themselves in ANY category. If a competitor has more than one routine in the same category they must move up one age category or change to a different dance form

  • Rhythm Revolution reserves the right to add or subtract days if warranted by the number of entries received. Rhythm Revolution reserves the right to cancel a competition up to 14 days prior due to a lack of registration

  • We will not be held responsible for sudden cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances

  • Rhythm Revolution will not be held responsible for injuries, the transmission of any infectious diseases, damage, or lost or stolen property throughout the competition

  • Rhythm Revolution will not be held responsible for any additional fees incurred (i.e. Parking fees, parking tickets, etc.) by any participants may encounter while attending the event

  • Rhythm Revolution reserves the right to use photos and videos of dancers taken at the competition venue for promotional purposes

  • Storage of props will be dependent on the location

  • Stage lighting is set at the beginning of every Rhythm Revolution event and will remain the same for all studios for the entire competition

  • Rhythm Revolution promotes a family atmosphere suitable for all ages. Rhythm Revolution requires that you edit music containing lyrics or phrasing that would be considered inappropriate. Choreography must also be suited for family viewing. Rhythm Revolution reserves the right to terminate a routine at any point in the performance if necessary

  • Any acts of verbal or physical abuse will result in automatic disqualification

  • THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES IS FINAL
